As it marked the 71st year of UP’s establishment in Iloilo, UP Visayas focused on its community engagements through its theme, “Bridging Academic Excellence and Commitment for a Sustained Public Service.”
The week-long celebration ran from February 19-23, 2018 with various activities held at its Miagao and Iloilo City campuses. These activities highlighted UP’s spirit of service to the larger community through its projects and programs. In addition, lectures, foras, exhibits, performances, and film festivals, were also featured.
In addition, UPV also honoured the outstanding performance of its personnel through the Chancellor’s Award, those that have served the University for 25 years through a loyalty award, and those who have retired from service.
Students have organized games, donations drives for disaster-stricken communities, and mobilizations. The Community Day will feature a Costume Run where everyone are encouraged to express themselves through their garbs while completing a 2-kilometer run.
An “Evening with the Chancellor” brought together the alumni and friends of UPV for a night of appreciation and commemoration.
