Aiming to educate the present generation about the history of the Philippine Revolution, TBA productions and Dakila visited West Visayas State University on August 13, as part of their school tour, to conduct a forum and to promote the film Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.
Goyo is an upcoming movie about the life of the young general Gregorio Del Pilar during the Filipino-American war, and the sequel to the critically-acclaimed Filipino film, Heneral Luna.
Lexter Tarriela, production manager, John Rey Ramos, a historian, and Dakila representative, Ms. Rash Caritativo, were present during the event to talk about the history of the Philippine Revolution specifically on the contribution of General Gregorio del Pilar to the history of Philippines.
“The decision that we are making are the ones that builds up the society plus we are the ones who is our making history” said Ramos, explaining what is the true essence of being a “Bayani”.
During the session, Caritativo of Dakila also reminded the students to be always critical on what is happening arond the society.
“Sometimes because the world is so loud, we forget where we are as an individual, as a youth and as a Filipino” said Caritativo.
Also present was Epy Quizon, one of the actors in the film, who served as one of the moderators during the open forum and answered questions from students regarding about the history of the Philippine Revolution.
The event was held at the WVSU audio-visual room.
